Belarus: An interactive map of the January Uprising within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was created

@ DELFI

The members of the initiative “The Belorussian National Memory” with the help of the Internet service Google Map created an interactive map of rebellious actions on the territory of   the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, i.e. the present Belarus and Lithuania, informed belsat.eu.

On the map there are placed pictures and information concerning  Belorussian and Lithuanian places connected with the  January Uprising, its command and participants.

“Today on the map 150 places are marked, in one way or another connected with the person of Kastuś Kalinouski, his co-workers and other participants of the uprising. On the map one can find the names of places in which there are streets named in memory of the commander of the uprising. The marks on the map are in three colours: red, blue and green” – said one of the idea originators Anatol Michnawiec from “The Belorussian National Memory”.

It is the first map of this kind devoted to the  January Uprising.

The map is available here.
