In the 21st edition of the reciting contest called Kresy in Lithuania there were 764 students in total.

“Teachers deserve a credit for a skill of waking up the interest and zooming in the poetry among students” said Mrs. Jozef Kwiatkowski during the final’s ceremony. Mrs. Kwiatkowski is the President of the Society of teachers of Polish schools in Lithuania “ Macierz Szkolna” which is organizing the contest with co-operation of Podlasian  branch of society Wspolnota polska  .

Not everyone of the contestants will be actors but the ability of speaking correctly and well diction might be useful in their adult’s life. From my own experience I can say that the faith and poetry are the things which are helping in hard parts of a life.- added Mrs. J Kwiatkowski.

The contestants started in three age groups: beginning with the youngest – age till 12 years old – 19 contestants; middle age group – ages 12- 16 years old – 19 contestants and the oldest ones age above 16 years old – 18 contestants. The winners were chosen by the commission with the president of Piotr Damulewicz the professor of the Theatre Academy in Bialystok, the actor of Puppetry in Bialystok.

In the first age group the winner was Kinga Zybort from the Szymon Konarski High school. Little girl, she is almost head lower that her colleagues form the age group. She captivated the commission with her honest performance. In the second age group was Julia Radlinskaitė form the high school in Mickuny. . Artur Kudriawcew and Katarzyna Kuczyńska who were the best in the oldest age group are going to represent Lithuania on the international contest in Bialystok

“ I am really happy and I  can already feel the stage fright because I have a feeling that might be back without any reward from Poland. “ said A. Kudriawcew

“All of the contests are graded on the basis of main winners there is nothing like a general level” summarized the president of the jury  Piotr Damulewicz. The sense of this contests is in the most beautiful interpretations of the poetry. We can say with all of the consequences that this year’s interpretations were perfect.
