The 23rd edition of the Recitation Contest “Kresy” in Šalčininkai

On the 23rd of October in Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai there were regional qualifications to Adam Mickiewicz Recitation Contest “Kresy 2014”. The aim of the contest is to popularise belles-lettres, develop creativity, improve recitation skills, increase the sensitivity to the beauty of poetry and spread the culture of modern language among children and youth. It is organised the 23rd time.

47 contestants took part in the competition for the title of the best recitator of Šalčininkai District Municipality. There were three age categories of participants: 12 years old, 12-16 years old and above 16. After hearing 47 people, the jury of the contest chose 10 laureates of regional qualifications who will take part in the national stage of Recitation Contest “Kresy 2014” in Lithuania. In the jury were: Polish language expert teacher Lilia Kutysz (Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai ), Polish language methodology teacher Wacława Iwanowska (Gymnasium in Eišiškės), senior teacher of Polish language Janina Snarska (Eliza Orzeszkowa High School in Baltoji Vokė), senior teacher of Polish language Iwona Nowikiewicz (Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai ), Polish language methodology teacher Edyta Jasielionis (Anna Krepsztul Gymnasium in Butrimonys), senior Polish language teacher Regina Szyłobritienė (Adam Mickiewicz High School in Dieveniškės) and Polish language methodology teacher Janina Kuryło (Michał Baliński Gymnasium in Jašiūnai).

In the age group of 12-year-olds, the best people were: Gabriela Mockutė (Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai – the teacher Iwona Nowikiewicz), Sylwija Mikutaititė (Gymnasium in Eišiškės – the teacher Genowefa Paszkiewicz), Emilia Iwanowska (Gymnasium in Eišiškės – the teacher Czesława Romanowska), Dominika Narkiewicz (Ludwik Narbutt High School in Kalesninkai – the teacher Teresa Bogdiun).

In the 12-16 age group, the winners are: Ewald Chaiłow (Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai – the teacher Lilia Kutysz), Ewa Grabsztunowicz (Gymnasium in Eišiškės – the teacher Wacława Iwanowska), Daniela Czajko (Gymnasium in Eišiškės – the teacher Wacława Iwanowska).

In the group of participants above the age of 16, the winners are: Loreta Bogdanowicz (Gymnasium in Eišiškės – the teacher Alicja Turowska), Dorota Sinkiewicz (Jan Śniadecki Gymnasium in Šalčininkai – Lilia Kutysz), Dorota Skarina (Eliza Orzeszkowa High School in Baltoji Vokė – the teacher Janina Snarska).

The participants and winners of the Contest got diplomas and book prizes.

Lithuanian national stage of the qualifications to the Recitation Contest „Kresy 2014” will take place on the 13th of November this year in the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius.
