A traditional carnival was held in Duksztach

There was a carnivale held in Duksztach “ Telewizja Zapustowa TV-13”. Everybody was eagerly waiting for spring, there was no exception, guests gathered in Duszkach were celebrating revelry to scare the winter away. The celebration started with colourful fancy-dresses.  There was cheerful music, pageants danced,  songs were sang, on the pan the pancakes sizzled. 

The holy housewife, Maria Rekść from the Local Government Area in Vilnius welcomed newly arrived guests on the feast. The fun came from all over the Vilnius region teams, all of the newly arrived guests enjoyed all the bright costumes, singing and dancing. The guests met ‘doctors’ and checked their state of health  in Gryzajć. There were also other dress – beggars, witches, fairies, jumping goats, bears, woken from sleep by the hum and hard music, and other traditional forms of the holiday. Wincuk Bałbatunszczyk from Pustaszyszek, Konopiasty and Słoninowy also arrived on the feast and had a good time. Marzanna was traditionally burned, the gathered people were yelling to drive away the winter out of the yard.

The day was honored by the presence of : Member of the Parliament RL Rita Tamašunienė and Wanda Krawczonok, minister of energy Jarosław Niewierowicz, minister energetyki Jarosław Niewierowicz, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Edyta Tamošiūnaitė, Deputy Minister of communications Władysław Kondratowicz, Local mayor of the Region Solecznickiego Zdzislaw Palewicz, representatives of the diplomatic corps: Iwona Frączek, Counsellor of the Polish Embassy in Vilnius, Henryk Waldemar Szymański, Minister-Counsellor, Head of Trade and Investment Promotion of the Polish Embassy in Vilnius.
