A public Library in Rokiškis invited everyone for an exhibition „Czesław Miłosz”. Poet’s centenary”. An opening took place on 20 November at 3 pm. The exhibition will be open until 15 December.

It is devoted to the 100th anniversary of Czesław Miłosz’s birthday. The main objective is to remind people about works of the Polish poet, who has received a Nobel Prize. Chronologically organised pictures and texts will allow you to get to know the stages of his life and creative work.

A part of the exhibition is devoted to what Czesław Miłosz and other artists such as Josif Brodsky, Seamus Heaney, Tomas Venclova or Stanisław Barańczak said.

The exhibition, most importantly, presents the poetic achievements of Czesław Miłosz from various stages of his life; additionally, it emphasises his relation with Lithuania.

Graphic design was prepared by an artist, Adam Orlewicz, an academic teacher on The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The script was written by Jolanta Pol, the custodian of the Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature in Warsaw.

Polish Institute in Vilnius is the organiser.
