100th anniversary of Scouting in the Vilnius Region

Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego na Litwie

As a part of celebration of 100th anniversary of Scouting in the Vilnius Region, Polish Scouting and Guiding Association invites you to watch the photo exhibition. In the photos you will see scenes of daily life of a scout. The photos were taken by scouts.

Scouting is not what you can do, but what you are… (Rev. Kazimierz Lutosławski)

Obviously, you are not a scout just during a scout camp or meeting. You are a scout in your daily life even when you do not wear the uniform. That is why we would like to present to you what is most precious to us – our service to God, a Neighbor and the Homeland; cheerfulness, happiness, friendship, contact with nature and bonfires… All that have been connecting the scouting movement for so many years.

As a part of the exhibition “100th anniversary of Scouting in the Vilnius Region” we are proud to present the exhibition entitled “To God and Poland. Rebellious and independent scouting in the People’s Poland (1945-1990)”. The exhibition is devoted to the history of scouting in the People’s Republic, from 1945 to 1990. Its purpose is to present the fate of Polish scouts in the period after World War II in the communist state.

The Exhibition has been prepared by the Public Education Office of the Institute of National Remembrance Branch in Lublin Office in Radom in cooperation with Polish Organization of Scouting Movement.

Time: November 8, 2012; 18:00

Place: the House of Polish Culture

Organizer: Polish Scouting and Guiding Association

Partnership: Institute of National Remembrance Branch in Lublin, the House of Polish Culture

Partially funded by the Ministry of Culture in the Republic of Lithuania as a part of the project.
