The Ambassador Czubiński inaugurated the Summer School on Human Rights

The Ambassador of Poland in Lithuania Jarosław Czubiński attended the opening of the 8th International Summer School on Human Rights Protection at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. This year, young people from Belarus, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Ukraine and 5 Polish students will learn about the implementation of human rights standards and the work of institutions dealing with the protection of human rights in Lithuania.

As the initiators emphasize, the Summer School on Human Rights is addressed to active members of civil society who are empathetic to the violation of human rights.

Lectures will be led, among others, by two lecturers from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań – Natalia Buchowska, Ph.D. and Tomasz Lewandowski, M.A. The European Humanities University in Vilnius and the Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev are co-organizers of the project.

The Ambassador J. Czubiński noted that many scientific institutions in Poland have long traditions concerning the research in the field of human rights and the dissemination of knowledge on this subject. Emphasizing the role of the Adam Mickiewicz University, the Ambassador pointed out the importance of the Poznań Human Rights Center of Polish Academy of Sciences which organizes the annual international summer course on the international protection of human rights.

The Summer School on Human Rights at the Mykolas Romeris University will last until the 24th of July. It is implemented in the framework of the Erasmus project “INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS-InterPro” which is funded with support from the European Commission.
