Soleczniki among the most active in referendum

Being held today the referendum about the ban for selling land to foreigners is is not getting the interest of the voters. Till now only the 1,7 percent of the inhabitants have voted – as informed by the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Lithuania.

By the 10 am. the highest number of voters was registered in Akmenė region – 3 percent of the people entitled to vote. In Pakruojis 2,9 % of voters decided to actually vote, and in Soleczniki – 2,8 percent.

Compering to voters activity in the previous election this indexes are several times lower – says the chairperson of the CEC, Zenonas Vaigauskas.

The lowest activity was noted in Visaginas (1 percente of voters), Vilinus (1,15 percent), Klaipėdos region (1,22 percent) and in Nerynga (1,29 percent).

2,532 mln entitled to vote Lithuanian citizens can express they will in referendum. Referendum is considered valid if at least a half of voters take part in it.
