A New Upper-Secondary School in Kalvelių

Polish comprehensive school in Kalvelių in Vilnius district municipality defended accreditation and received a honourable status of the upper-secondary school. On November 14 2012 the inauguration of Stanisław Moniuszko Upper-Secondary School took place. 

The ceremony began with the sanctification of a school flag at the Divine Mercy Church in Kalvelių. The solemn ceremony was performed by the Reverend Mirosław Grabowski. Scouts with the new flag paid tribute at the statue of John Paul II.

After Mass the teaching staff led by a director of the School, Zygmunt Jaświn, planted trees that symbolised the beginning of a new stage of the School’s activity.

Then students, teachers, parents and numerous invited guests participated in an official ceremony in the School’s hall.

In 1999 the School in Kalvelių received its patron, Stanisław Moniuszko. 29 teachers works in the Upper-Secondary School. The School has currently 179 students.
