International Scientific Conference on „The dynamics of the Polish-Lithuanian relations”

The International Scientific Conference on “The dynamics of the Polish-Lithuanian relations” will be held on 19th September at 10 a.m. at the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (58 Donelaičio street).

The conference will be held on the 10th anniversary of death of Czesław Miłosz. Findings concerning the dynamics of the Polish-Lithuanian relations based on history, political science, philosophy, history of art, economics, sociology and other humanities and social sciences will be presented during the conference.

The conference aims at promoting research analysing centuries-old historical relations between Poland and Lithuania, shared experiences and close contacts varying in the course of political and cultural changes in both countries. Issues related to people belonging to a national minority – questions about their own identity or their influence on literature – will be discussed as well. The problems of common interests and views of Poland and Lithuania, important aspects of foreign policies and priorities of the strategic cooperation, especially concerning the Eastern neighbourhood, Euroatlantic security and development of the EU, between the two countries will be also brought up during the conference.

–          Paradigms of the shared history of Poland and Lithuania

–          Relations between Poland and Lithuania in political, economic and social processes

–          Cultural development of Poland and Lithuania

–          National identity and its transformations: Polish-Lithuanian identity issues
