Edita Tamosiunaite: There is a project of an Act, assuming the return to the previous examination model.

”The Lithuanian language exam results are far from satisfactory and we have to think about the possible solution t this problem”- said the vice- minister of Education and Science, Edita Tamosiunaite.

The guest of today’s Political Lounge added that a new act project, aiming at the return of the previous examination model guaranting different Lithuanian language exams for Lithuanian and non-Lithuanian schools, has been proposed to the Parliament.

Vice-minister of education stated that special treatment of the non- Lithuanian matura exam takers allowing them for a greater number of mistakes without the mark being lowered, has failed in practice because the results of the national minority schools’ students are far worse when compared to those attained by their Lithuanian peers.

This year, for the first time, the non- Lithuanian matura exam  takers have not een given any special treatment during the Lithuanian language exam. The only thing to be retained was the secial kind f assessment allowing the non- Lithuanians to make more mistakes. Such a facility is to be valid until 2019.
