Another time when someone is punished for Polish- Lithuanian street names
Today, the Regional Court of Vilnius City adjudicated that Lucyna Kotłowska, the Director of Local Administration of the Vilnius Region, has to pay another fine for address plaques with Lithuanian-Polish street names in the Vilnius region, which is inhabited mostly by Polish majority.
2,300 litas, or more than 666 euros (data from 9th June.), equals 10 litas for each day of delay in the execution of writ of execution issued by the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court from 23rd October 2013 – that is the amount which Polish clerk will have to pay for but will have to pay a Polish clerk for Government representative in the district of Vilnius.
Bailiff applied for an order that the L. Kotłowska have to pay 300 litas fine for each day of delay in the execution of writ of execution. The parties have 30 days to appeal the decision.
The case rewers to address plaques with street names in localties nearby Vilnium, such as: Pikieliszki, Mejszagoła, Suderwa, Orzełówka, Niemenczyn, Bujwidze, Mościszki and Ławaryszki.
This is not the first fine imposed on the Director of Local Administration of the Vilnius Region for bilingual street names. Bolesław Šalčininkai Dashkievich, the director of Local Administration, was also often convicted for the Polish-Lithuanian street names.
