From yesterday (June, 2) the Chairman of the Šalčininkai District Municipality is Józef Rybak.

The new chairman announced three basic changes, ‘These 6 months, which we have to the end of term, we will devote to the program of The Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (pl. Akcja Wyborcza Polaków na Litwie, lit. Lietuvos lenkų rinkimų akcija) in Šalčininkai District. We have to stop sorting cities by the project, the prize of this is too big and we should work rapidly in this direction. What is more, the center of our attention is a citizen and solving all problems in other words everything a human is fighting against in this area. Maximal dynamic and transparent actions for welfare of the citizens.  A person, who is a member of the local government have to receive immediately precise and comprehensive answer. And finally, saving public resources.’, said J.Rybak for Radio Znad Wilii.

The candidacy of J.Rybak for the chairman of municipality was approved last Friday (May, 30) by the Šalčininkai District Government. 19 of 20 members of the government, present at that moment voted for him.
