The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland was established in Klaipėda

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland was established in Klaipėda. An honorary consul general will head the Consulate. A present Honorary Consul, Tadeusz Macioł, was appointed to this post by Radosław Sikorski, the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The aim of the honorary consul is to develop friendly relations and economic, cultural and science and technical cooperation between Poland and Lithuania. Additionally, the consul takes care over the citizens of Poland living in the Klaipėda County and over the polish ships and their crew and passengers.

The Honorary Consul is concerned about the protection of human rights and the interests of Poland in the consular district and promotes Poland as a touristic venue.

“The appointment indeed upgrades the Consulate General of the republic of Poland which has been established in Klaipėda 10 years ago. It also upgrades the Consul, Tadeusz Macioł, who has been the head of the consulate for these 10 years. ” – as can be read n the website of the Embassy in Vilnius.
