The session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic is to be held in September. During the session, the current issues concerning Polish-Lithuanian relations will be discussed.

“During the session, the issues concerning our relations will be discussed. We will also debate on the development of energy and transport projects. We will be talking about the law on national minorities” – said Kirkilas to BNS.

According to the politician, the Polish side assesses positively the fact that Lithuania is preparing a new law on national minorities. “They know that we are preparing a new law, they take an interest in that and they assess it positively” – said Gediminas Kirkilas.

Yesterday in Warsaw, the session of presidiums of Polish and Lithuanian delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic was held. The Lithuanian side was represented by the Vice-President of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas and the chairwoman of AWPL (the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania) parliamentary group Rita Tamašunienė.

From the Polish side the session was attended by the chairman of the Polish delegation to the Assembly, the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Eugeniusz Grzeszczak and his  deputies Urszula Augustyn and Artur Górski.
