Polish Language Week in Vilnius region schools

By the decision of members of the Methodical Group of Polish Teachers of Vilnius Region taken on 23 September 2012 “About the need of organising a Week of Polish Language”, on 15 November 2012 in the auditorium of Educological University (Studentu 39 Street, Vilnius) the “Week of Polish Language” in schools of the Vilnius Region was officially inaugurated.

The aim of the project is:

-popularising the Polish language and its correctness among the students of schools in the Vilnius region

-improving the knowledge of culture of the language

-developing an ability to use the Polish language

-shaping orthographic skills

-encouraging interest in Polish films, theatre and poetry

-presenting the students’ achievements

-promoting the students’ talents in acting and reciting

In schools with Polish as a teaching language (junior high schools, high schools and primary schools) the “Week of Polish Language” will be taking place between 15 and 27 November 2012. In these days nights of poetry and music, recitative competitions, meetings with poets and journalists, conferences, dictations and linguistic plays will be organised. We would like to invite school communities, parents, grandparents and all volunteers to participate in the celebrations.
