At the pizza place “Pizza Dominium” in Vilnius, a reader of DELFI received a receipt in Polish language.

The departments in the  Seym are not divided yet and the receipts  in Vilnius are in Polish  –  laughed the reader of DELFI Inga.

Inga went with her friend to the pizza place on Saturday. She was very surprised after getting the receipt in Polish. Inga did not ask for the receipt in the office language because she understood that this might be a mistake of administration not the waitress.

The supervisor of the National Inspection of the Language (Valstybinės kalbos inspekcija) ) Donatas Smalinskas said that documents should have been written in Lithuanian – the office language. Disobedience of this law might have its consequences with an administration penalty of amount 400 – 600 lits.

“The receipt is a document, and documents does not matter if they are financial, account should be in the office language” – said the expert

Headquarters of “Pizza Dominum” has its place in Warsaw, but the Warsaw bureau did not give any comment about the whole situation.

During the phone conservation the employee of the Vilnius’ pizza place agreed that clients have gotten the receipts in Polish language on Saturday. “ it was just a system mistake” – said the worker of the pizza place.
