‘Unity of nations’ race in Šalčininkai

For the 2nd time the youth’s organization „Europroject” organized the ‘Unity of nations’ race (Tautų vienybės bėgimas ) in Šalčininkai.

‘The symbolic thing was that the race took place on the day before the anniversary of the Baltic route. The aim of the initiative is to encourage the residents of the region, especially youth, to do sport and to become more tolerant towards each ethnic group. The representatives of various nationalities took part in the race: Lithuanians, Poles, Belarusians and Russians. This way, young people of Šalčininkai want to show the entire Lithuania that they’re united, friendly and ready to act on the regional level’ – as Edyta Mackiewicz, the director of „Europroject” claims.

Around 80 people took part in the race. The youngest participant was 5.

„Europroject” organization operates in the Šalčininkai district for 6 years.
