Genoveita Krasauskienė: The language of a minority will be to choose from

The possibility of learning the native language in Lithuanian schools by the representatives of national minorities has been available for 9 years – the Vice-Minister of Education and Science, Genoveita Krasauskienė, says.

Today’s guest in Salon Polityczny has asserted than within a year, there will be new teaching programs of Polish, Russian and other languages of minorities in Lithuanian schools prepared. Pupils from 2nd till 10th class will have two hours per week for learning their native language. These will not be the compulsory classes, but free to choose from.
