Church in Kalesninkai-for those who believe, think, feel

“A place forgotten by God” – this idiomatic expression often referrs to small towns and villages. I am surprised, however, where it comes from.  After all, God is everywhere and you can feel Him the strongest exactly where it is peaceful, quiet, where no one disturbs the peace of the soul, and does not interfere with the experiencing miracles of faith.

11 km from Eišiškės in Kalesninkai the believers can find the church of  Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary – it is a soothing, soul rejoicing, hopeful place for those who believe, think, feel. Whoever will visit the church, will understand that the distant, mysterious and soothing tranquility of the temple is the best refuge from anxiety, stress, fatigue.

Exhausted by the summer heat, bored of banal entertainment, people are often looking for still “undiscovered” places. Standing in the small village church can  be “discovered” quite by accident – its lofty towers are visible from the main road and invite you to turn towards Kalesninkai.

However, it is worthy to choose a temple in Kalesninkai as the main destination, as such place deserves spending more time. It is worth to spend time on a long walk and enjoy the beauties of the surrounding area, contemplate, enjoy the peace, feel the spirit of the past and the hope of the future, revive the faith.

And after the discovery of such a rejoicing spirit place as the church in Kalesninkai, it is essential to share this discovery with others. Because the most important in life are – love, faith, peace, hope, dreams – they cost nothing, but gain enormous significance when we experience them all together.
