Lucyna Kotłowska, Director of the regional administration, presented a program of local communities for the period of 2013-2015

May 3, 2007 during a meeting of the Government Council Of Vilnius Councillors to consider donating the amount of property tax rates.

In 2014 on the territory of the local government area of Vilnius will apply the following property tax tariff: 0,6% of the value of the real estate tax and 1% of the value of the real estate tax for rooms and buildings which are not used, neglected or abandoned.

The same rates also apply in the current fiscal year. On the basis of the State Tax Inspectorate, in 2012, taxes on property located in the territory of the Vilnius Region Government paid: individuals – 139 thousand. 700 Lt, legal persons – 4 million 675 thousand. Lt. So, in 2012, 97.1% of tax revenue accounted for corporation tax. Number of individuals – taxpayers – could be changed due to the transfer of ownership of legal persons, as in the case of taxes declared legal. In 2012, the total amount of taxes (calculated on the basis of existing tariffs of 0.6% and 1%) amounted to 4 million 814 thousand. 700 Lt, in 2013, revenues from property taxes should be around 3 million. Lt (based on the applicable tariffs of 0.6% and 1%). At the Council meeting it was decided that the 2014 property tax rates remain unchanged.

Meeting within the Council approved the renaming of the elementary school in Kienie. At the request of the school directors to grant the school name of Czeslaw Milosz, and after receiving the consent of the State Commission of the Lithuanian language, the school was given the name of the elementary school Czesław Miłosz in Pakienie. Also approved the rules of the school.

Councillors also approved the accounts of companies “Nemėžio” and “komunalininkas Nemenčinės komunalininkas” for the year 2012, but on the condition that their executives exactly the situation and examine at its next meeting the Council will present a concrete plan for its improvement. According to the councilors, can reduce the loss of millions, which shall be borne by both the company and do not expect their coverage only from the budget of the local government.

It is known that there were objective reasons that affected the activity of the deficit-an increase in gas prices, the purchase of garbage trucks, long the residents with municipal services – but, in the opinion of Councillors, there are internal reserves to reduce the companies ‘ losses. Company managers promised that shortly submit concrete plans for the improvement of the situation on the boards of companies, and after their bailout at a meeting of the Council.

During the meeting, the Council approved the allocation of Care and development programme to build Roads, repair and maintenance of local roads and streets of the Self-government of municipalities. The total length of roads The Government of Vilnius is approximately 2359 km: 1735 km – local roads and 624 miles-streets. The road surface asphalt-concrete mixtures represent 15% of the Pebble-83% of the ground surface,-2%.

Unfortunately, the financial measures granted by the Directorate of roads at the Ministry of Communication on the implementation of the planned reconstruction of roads and care and ensure the safe road traffic. After a drastic reduction of State subsidies for the maintenance and repair of roads, they are in terrible condition, and the local Government does not have such measures to fix the situation, although it does everything in its power. Each county received money to refurbish roads. Needs are obviously bigger, but upon the quotation works on the roads and streets of the most in need of renovation will be started.
