„Singing Kindergarten” for the ninth time

IX Festival „Singing Kindergarten” took place in the Polish Community Center in Vilnius. 280 children from 23 kindergartens of Vilnius and Vilnius region participated.

It’s a children song review where songs are performed by the youngest pupils of Polish kindergartens.

„This project has a great goal. With the help of culture I wanted performers to connect, from kindergarten pupils to seniors. There were music festivals for schools, families and seniors in Vilnius, but there wasn’t one for kindergartners. My dream was to organise such a festival for children and now it came true.”, said the organisator of the festival Apolonia Skakowska, president of Stanisław Moniuszko Polish Community Center in Lithuania.

A. Skakowska also said that the current festival structure was established thanks to a cooperation with its first long-term organisator – a preschool educator Felicja Patecka.

„We will still be working and developping the festival. Participation in such events teaches children a lot about self-confidence, posture, how to behave on stage. I think this festival helps create future members of bands such as the Polish Folk Song and Dance Ensemble „Wilia”  – said to ‘Wilnoteka’ A. Skakowska.
