High school of Frdynad Ruszczyca welcomed new school year by 31 polish 1st grades and fifth Russian yesterday in high school of Ferdynad Ruszczyc in Rudomin in a Vilnius region.

Association „Wsplnota Polska” funded backpacks with all needed equipment for school to the youngest students.

Mrs. Zaneta Jankowska a director of the high school welcomed in a new school year all the guests and students with a speech. Our high school had to wait a long time to be renovated. Today some part of a school is already renovated. Thanks to the Vilnius self government and association „Wsolnota polska ” first graders could seat behind new desks in renovated classes. We were waiting for new playing field and further renovation of the school with no patience. Director was welcoming all guests warm and  wished to everyone all the best in education. There were more students this year than last. Except kids from close towns and villages school in Rudomin has kids from Vilnius and Šalčininkai region. Some of the children were brought to school by bus which was very comfortable for the parents and for the children.

48 students have graduated the previous year. 80 percent of them have gone to the universities only four of them would study in Poland. Results are good but may be better, we hoped for 100 percent of graduates would by continuating their education on Universities said Mrs. Zaneta Jankowska

Polish high school competed with the one from Rudomin but as Mrs Jankowska said there were in good condition. There were enough students at school even thought there might have been bigger classes in a class of preschool, said the director. I was very pleased with the teachers of the school my son graduated that school the previous year and he was a student of Vilnius university that day. I brought my granddaughter here I hope she would be a good student and she would do her best here, said Alina Sobol.

We were polish family and it was very important what school my kids were attending, added Mrs. Alina.

Students from our High school were in contact with Poland. Part of the students were every year in Poland for Vacation. We were co-operating with high school from Cieszyn and with high school from Blonie close to Warsaw where we have been doing a project together. We also had some new projects which are realized with polish students. Also, we were taking part in sending our students to Poland and having polish students here. We had 3 students from Poland who were going to stay for next 3  months,  said Mrs. Jankowska.

Students form polish high school were taking part in regional educational contests, where usually they were in first places. During the national exams they got 100- 90 points, that made teachers pleased. Our students did not have any problems with the national language. Without any large problems students studied at the universities and after graduating they would have god job, said director.

Except the school, children have some different entertainments for example, Students has some interesting classes after school which made happy parents. Also, there is  the band „zgoda” which was very popular among students. They performed in a few cities in Poland every year, there were invited to Spain that year. said director of the High school.
