In the region of Vilnius was renewed three infant schools

Three pre-school in Vilnius region: pre-school “Pelėdžiukas” in Pogiry city, nursery, kindergarten and nursery school in Niemenczyn city-kindergarten in Mejszagole city submitted applications for EU support under the measure “Investments in pre-primary institutions” 2 priority “Availability and quality of public services: social infrastructure, education and health “program of activities to promote cohesion.

The aim, supported by funding from the EU Structural Funds was the renewal of business premises and equipment pre-school education institutions, aiming at improving the quality and availability of services.

Submitted proposals have received a favorable evaluation and 7 June 2010 the directors of these institutions have signed agreements on funding and administering projects. Under the terms of the contracts signed projects have been funded 85% from the European Regional Development Fund and state budget of the Republic of Lithuania. The value of the overall project in Mejszagole city amounted to more than 421 000 LTL (including EU support – 330 000 Lt). Under the contract’s financial contribution Local Vilnius Region was 94 thousand. Lt, however, regardless of the scope and cost of renewal work on the nursery government has allocated 144 000 LTL to the project, which is also allocated 50 000 LTL.

Renewal of kindergarten-nursery in Niemenczyn city covered the amount of 406 000 Lt (including funds from the EU funds — more than 344 000 LTL). For the project in Niemenczyn city government has allocated 116 000 LTL, exceeding the amount fixed in the contract of 55 000 LTL (according to the contract for a project the local government had to spend 61 000 LTL).

In preschool, “Pelėdžiukas” work done in Pogiry city amounting to almost 480 000 LTL (408 000 LTL — financial support of EU funds; 72 000 LTL — government funds)

Obtained using the EU funds and Government owing to the financial support of the Vilnius Region renovated facilities, obsolete equipment of primary education facilities, purchased new furniture and preschool were provided with modern computers. Following the requirements laid down in the projects (requirements) above pre-equipped with facilities for (to) activities methodical of not less than 30 m². The renovated classrooms are equipped with a methodical new furniture. The rooms are decorated 2-3 room to work with your computer, installed the equipment necessary for printing and reproduction (photocopying), interactive whiteboards and other equipment improves learning conditions.
