The degree ceremony of the graduates of the University of Bialystok branch in Vilnius.

Today on the 26th of July at the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius, a particularly awaited ceremony took place- the awarding of diplomas of the faculty of Economics and Computer Science of the University of Bialystok branch. The ceremony gathered students, lecturers, relatives, and many others. More than 30 graduates of Economics, Computer Science, and European Studies have received their diplomas.

Each graduate was solemnly invited on stage to receive the long-awaited diploma which symbolises a successful graduation and a gateway to the world.

This year the recruitment for Economics, Computer Science, European Studies, and Preschool and Early Childhood Pedagogy is taking place.

The branch principal- PhD Professor Jerzy Halicki emphasised in the radio station Znad Wilii that adding another field of study- Preschool and Early Childhood Pedagogy is “very appealing”.

The Faculty of Economics and Computer Science of the University of Bialystok branch started its activity in 2007. It is the first branch of a foreign university in Lithuania and the first faculty of a Polish university outside the country. Its establishment is a success of the University of Bialystok, the Polish and Lithuanian diplomacy, and the Polish minority in Lithuania.

The faculty in Vilnius not only gives didactic classes but is also the organizer and co-organizer of a number of international conferences and the publisher of scientific monographs. Students do well while studying in a friendly atmosphere. Surrounded by the kindness of the employees and lecturers they develop their scientific interests in three students’ scientific associations operating at the faculty, what is more,  they go on traineeships and scientific internships. They also have a good scholarship program and their diplomas are accepted in Lithuania, Poland, and all European Union member states.

„The studies are conducted in Polish, this is what we consider to be our mission. There is an extensive scholarship program thanks to which more than half of the students can receive a scholarship. There are also students’ movements cooperating with the home university in Bialystok” emphasises Ph.D. professor Jerzy Halicki.
