Supporting Ukraine – actions held in Lithuania
On Thursday in Lithuania support actions have started.
They are held in 4 biggest cities in the country- in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys and other smaller localities.
According to the data of the police in Vilnius, in front of the Parliament building gathered about 10 ooo people that later on directed to the Russian Embassy in Lithuania.
The participants in the capital carry posters with quotes such as: ‘Piece for Ukraine!’ or ‘Putin keep your hands off’.
Among the crowd there was a director of Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. He stated that it is the Ukraine that was ‘protecting’ them that day.
‘We have to support them no matter what. There’s little we can do for them, but maybe our hearts, our prayers will help. We hope for a miracle- he said and determined last events as sad and tragic.’
After the march that will take place next to the Parliament at the Boris Nemtsov square in front of the Russian Embassy there will be events symbolysing the sympathy for Ukraine. It is planned to sing national anthems of Ukraine and Lithuania, accend the fire of solidarity and turn on the light of freedom.
