Auštrevičius: The Treaty has not been fully implemented

“The signing of the treaty, that took place 25 years ago, has turned a brand new page in our cooperation with Poland,” said Lithuanian liberal politician, member of the European Parliament Petras Auštrevičius.

The guest of the Political Salon added that Poland and Lithuania managed to overcome historical grievances and focus on good neighborly cooperation in many key areas.

„Nowadays, not only must we be good neighbours for one another but also our partnership has to be based on solidarity, with both countries supporting each other in many European institutions,” noted Auštrevičius.

At the same time, the politician admitted that, unfortunately, not all provisions of the Treaty have been implemented and he recalled a problem of the original spelling of surnames.
