Karbauskis: EAPL–CFA can get the position of the Vice-Marshal of the Seimas

The leader of the ruling peasant party, Ramūnas Karbauskis, says that Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance can get the position of the Vice-Marshal of the Seimas, even if it does not join the ruling coalition.

According to him, members of the parliament should change the Statute of the Seimas, so that instead of five Vice-Mashals’ seats, there would be seven back again.

“If Seimas takes such a decision, and I think it will, then it will probably offer it to EAPL–CFA, whether there is any coalition agreement or not” – said Karbauskis.

“It would allow to pull them into managing Seimas, but from the other side, they never needed agreements to cast their vote alongside us in terms of values” – added the politician.

At the beginning of July Karbauski offered the EAPL–CFA joining the ruling coalition in exchange for some positions in Seimas. This proposal was rejected by Valdemar Tomaševski, because representatives of the party currently have few positions in parliamentary committees and commissions. According to the member of the European Parliament EAPL–CFA could join the coalition if it gets few departments. Talking to LRT the leader of the Polish party declared his major interest in the Ministry of Education, Welfare, Transport and the Ministry of the Interior.
