Grybauskaitė says that Lithuania should strengthen strategic partnership with Poland
Lithuania may contribute to improvement of the relations between the European Union and United States – stated Dalia Grybauskaitė.
“We understand that there is tension in international and transatlantic relations. Amid this tension, the Baltic countries, among them also Lithuania, should find their place, perhaps even become the platform which can warm relations and reduce tension” – said the president after the meeting with the ambassadors.
The tension between UE and USA concerns mostly issues of commerce and climate.
“The task of diplomacy, in this complicated world, consists of ensuring Lithuania’s security and business regardless of what will happen in the future and what dynamic the international relations will take” – explained the head of Lithuanian country.
According to Grybauskaitė, the ambassadors should firstly take care of the national and defensive security of Lithuania. On the forthcoming NATO summit they have to assure reinforcement of strategic partnership with France, USA and Poland.
