Genoveita Krasauskienė: The language of a minority will be to choose from

The possibility of learning the native language in Lithuanian schools by the representatives of national minorities has been available for 9 years – the Vice-Minister of Education and Science, Genoveita Krasauskienė, says.

Today’s guest in Salon Polityczny has asserted than within a year, there will be new teaching programs of Polish, Russian and other languages of minorities in Lithuanian schools prepared. Pupils from 2^nd till 10^th class will have two hours per week for learning their native language. These will not be the compulsory classes, but free to choose from.
