Linkevičius: Lithuania and Poland are linked by a strategic friendship

Bronisław Komorowski gave a set of exhibits presenting the history of the Komorowski family in Lithuania to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius.

„The presents given by president Bronisław Komorowski symbolise particularly close historical connections between the two nations. When we know better the common past we share, we will be able to develop and nurture today’s Lithuania and Poland, which are linked by a strategic friendship”, said Linkevičius.

Among the family documents given to Lithuania there was a picture of Komorowski’s great-grandfather, the advertisement of a candy factory near Rokiškis. The former president of Poland also gave drawings made by count Joseph Perkowski, who lived in Samogitia.

Bronisław Komorowski’s parents, Zygmunt Leon Komorowski and Jadwiga Komorowska come from Aukštaitija.
