Even more Lithuanism in non-Lithuanian schools

On the initiative of the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science, two new methodical guides were published, for the Lithuanian language teachers working in national minorities schools.

‘Second language of the little ones’ – guide under this title is addressed to Lithuanian language teachers teaching children aged 3-6 in institutions with non-Lithuanian language of teaching.

The guide titled ‘Advice for a teacher’ is dedicated to the teachers working with students of forms 1-2, for whom Lithuanian is not a mother tongue.

‘We hope that those guides will help teachers increase motivation among the students to learn Lithuanian language, develop responsible citizenship, basic values’ – said representative of the department, Laima Jankauskienė.

The schools with national minority teaching language will receive those guides soon.
