Peace rally at the Ministry of Education and Science

Wł. Syrkomla High School in Vilnius, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, for the past few years have been striving to retain secondary school status with curriculum based on Christian values.

Despite this, parents of the ‘Syrkomla’ students express their concerns about the atmosphere surrounding the topic of accreditation. Today they issued a statement, published here:

‘We, parents of the Wł. Syrkomla School students, are concerned by the state of our school’s accreditation. Both Vilnius City Municipality and the School Head Office fulfilled all the formalities and meet all the criteria for accreditation. All the documents were submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science. However, the Ministry of Education and Science still has not made a decision, which negatively affects the atmosphere at the school and, to some extent, hinders the peaceful process of learning.

Therefore, on April 13 at 4 p.m., we plan to organize a peace rally at the Ministry of Education and Science, to ask Minister D. Pavalkis for swift accreditation of Wł. Syrkomla School as a secondary school with a profile of promoting Christian values.

Our school has a rich heritage and it is founded on Christian traditions and values. ‘Syrkomla’ is one of the best schools in the Vilnius City. We are determined, and we support the decision of the Vlnius City Municipality and the School Head Office, that ‘Syrokomla’ obtains the secondary school accreditation as soon as possible.
