Peace rally near Ministry of Education and Science

Władysław Syrokomla High School in Vilnius, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, has been striving for a few years to retain its status as a high school that bases its curriculum on Christian values.

Parents of students attending Syrokomla High School express their concern regarding the atmosphere which has been surrounding the issue of school’s accreditation. They have issued a statement today, which can be read below:

„We, the parents of the students of Władysław Syrokomla School, are concerned with the situation with the issue of the school’s accreditation. Both the Vilnius District Council and the school management completed every formalities and met every requirements pertaining to the accreditation. All the documents were submitted at the Ministry of Education and Science. However, we still have not received the decision from the Ministry of Education and Science, which negatively influences the atmosphere in the school and to a certain degree hinders the calm process of teaching.

For the above reasons, we are planning to organise a peace rally on April 13 at 4pm near the Ministry of Education and Science in order to ask the minister D. Pavalkis for possibly the quickest accreditation of Władysław Syrokomla School as gymnasium with its aim of cultivating Christian values.

Our school has a rich history and follows Christian tradition and values. “Syrokomlówka” is one of the best school in Vilnius. We are determined and advocate the decision of Vilnius District Council and the school management which grants the school with its accreditation as a gymnasium in the possible quickest time.
