The invitation to a conference about bilingualism for the teachers of Polish diaspora

The Association “Polish Community”, Teacher Training Centre and the Centre for the Development of Polish Education Abroad invite to take part in the conference devoted to the problem of Polish language teaching in bilingual environments.

The topics connected with bilingualism are more and more important because of high emigration that mostly includes young families with children at a school age. Entering a new environment, culture and language and the will to maintain the bond with motherland require the need to conduct a very wide education process both at home, local schools and Polish diaspora schools.

We are sure that the lecturers and practitioners with the creator of so called Cracow method, professor Jagoda Cieszyńska invited by us can show how we can do it best,” says the Vice-President of the Association “Polish Community” Dariusz Bonisławski.

We would like our conference to be the attempt to search for effective solutions, establish contacts and prepare promotional strategies. We also hope that the presence of chosen publishing companies that offer textbooks, guides and teaching aids for teaching bilingual children will contribute to the fulfillment of our plan of complex methodical support of those of you who want to meet us,” invites the Vice-President of “Polish Community”.

The conference will take place in the House of Polish Diaspora in Pułtusk on 28-30 of November 2014.

The applications (can be downloaded with program below) should be sent to dwujezycznosc@dompolonii.pl to 20 November this year.

The project is financed by the sources from the Ministry of National Education for the task “The organisation of professional training in the the country and abroad for the teachers of Polish language, history, geography, culture of Poland and other subjects taught in Polish language abroad.”
