Kiejzik: In London, we met a true Polish aristocracy and intelligentsia

At the beginning of September with the performance “Notes of a Red Army officer” Polish Studio Theatre in Vilnius visited London. The performance is considered successful  by the Studio. The Studio also plans to return there next year.

Vilnius theatre was invited by the Polish Library POSK to give performance in London. “We liked it very much and we had a very good reception. During our show the room was full, and it is more or less the same size as that in DKP “- said zw.lt Edward Kiejzik, the lead actor of the play, which was directed by the director and actor  from Poland Sławomir Gaudyn.

“It was amazing. We drove with some concerns, which turned out to be unnecessary. In London we saw a real Polish aristocracy and intelligentsia, that from the pre-war time “- shared her impressions with zw.lt Lilia Kiejzik, the director of the theatre.

“Actually, we met there three generations of Polish emigration: pre-war, war, solidarity, and the last  – earning one. Generally, that is even four generations “- added E. Kiejzik.  On the performance also came the Polish emigrants from Lithuania. Besides that, the theatrical team was put up for the night in Mrs. Zofia’s place, who was born in the time of interwar Vilnius and her father was a judge.

Next year, the Polish Studio Theatre in Vilnius will have a show in London- the art of Sławomir Mrożek “The Emigrants”. The spectacle will probably be staged during the spring time.

This week Vilnius viewers will have the opportunity to see the “Red Army” in Ejszyszki (September 17) and in Rudominie (September 18). Later, the show will be staged in Poland.

In November, will take place the Festival of Mono- performance “MONOEast”. The performance will be attended by theatres from Ukraine, Russia, Canada and Poland.

In late November, the Polish Theatre Studio will reveal its lighter aspect with “The trial of Cabaret – Osiecka once more.”

And for the youngest (27 December) we have the premiere of “The Adventures of Koziołek Matołek”.
