The Sużany District has got a new partner in Poland

The Sużany District has got a new partner. At the beginning of August, Tadeusz Alancewicz, district head of the Sużany District, signed a cooperation agreement with the Węgierska Górka District, situated in the Żywiecki Powiat District within the Śląskie Woivodeship.

As Tadeusz Alancewicz informed, Węgierska Górka is going to be the second district officially cooperating with Sużany. Since 2006, the Sużany District fruitfully cooperates with the Pasym District( Szczytno Powiat District, Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship).

The agreement was signed during XXI Węgierska Górka Days held between 1st and 3rd August. This  three-day long endeavour is probably the biggest event of its kind within the Żywiecki  Powiat District and is still remarkably popular due to attractive and diversified programme prepared year by year. Węgierska Górka is then visited by the best artists and bands. This year, evening concerts  were given i.a. by Maciej Maleńczuk and HEY band.

Four delegates from Sużany were very well taken care of during their visit, and the deal was signed by Piotr Tyrlik- the District Head of Węgierska Górka and Tadeusz Alancewicz-the District Head of Sużany. Partners from the nearby Pasym, who came especially to witness signing of the agreement, were content that the cooperation is geographically spreading, and they hoped that this cooperation will be equally benficial for both sides.

According to Alancewicz- Węgierska Górka is a remarkably prosperous region. Within its territory, there is a brewery producing the ”Żywiec” beer, the METALPOL plant, numerous sawmills etc.

-We invited our new partners to the harvest festival of the Vilnius Region, traditionally held on the last Saturday of September (27th) in Pikieliszki village, and our invitation has been eagerly accepted- Alancewicz said. He also added that the Sużany District delegates together with the ”Kapela Świętojańska” would partake in the Pasym harvest festival.
