The next meeting of the court concerning bilingual signs
InŠalčininkai, today (August 5th), will be held the next meeting of the court concerning bilingual street signs on private homes.
The director of the office of administration of local area of Šalčininkai – Jozef Rybak will stand trial, he often repeated that he will not take off Polish plates and does not intend to fight with the Polish language.
The issue of the presence of bilingual signs would be sorted out by the adoption of the Law on National Minorities, which would define the use of minority languages.
,, Faction AWPL issued amendments to the Law on national minorities, which would allow bilingual spelling. After the second reading amendments have been changed. The situation is that the final stage of adoption of the law will be dealt with during the autumn session “- informs Vice-President Jaroslaw Narkiewicz of the Sejm.
