Virtual tour of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border

vrsa.lt

You can visit the most beautiful corners of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, without leaving your home. Vilnius Region Municipal Government jointly with a Belarusian partner, the Executive Committee of Oszmiański Region, implemented the project “Two countries – a common culture and history.” A Virtual Cross-border Historical Route of Oszmiańska Plateau was created thanks to this project.

The virtual trail leads to the best places of the Oszmiańska Plateau in Lithuanian and Belarusian sides. You can visit Niemież, Miedniki, Borejkowszczyzna, Rukojnie, Ławaryszki and Kowalczuki in Lithuania and Holszany, Baruny, Oszmiana and other localities in Belarus. By one click of the mouse, you can move from one location to another. The image you see on the screen is almost identical to the one that sees a man who is in those places. With a virtual tour, you can explore the most important monuments and objects of culture and wildlife, and enjoy the Vilnius region from the aerial view.

Virtual tour leads to the exhibition rooms in the castle in Miedniki, mosque in Niemież, Wladyslaw Syrokomla’s Museum in Borejkowszczyzna and many other places. Descriptions were placed next to each monument.

Virtual tour of the Oszmiańska’s Plateau has been prepared in four languages: Lithuanian, Polish, Belarusian and English.
