The Tournament on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Szymon Konarski High School in Vilnius

The Football Tournament organized by the Szymon Konarski High School in Vilnius on the occasion of the school`s 50th anniversary won the team from John Paul II Lower Secondary School. In the tournament took part the football teams from 4 Vilnian schools.

Szymon Konarski High School in Vilnius is celebrating its 50th anniversary. In April at school was held a solemn commemoration and the spectacle prepared by the students. “ We decided to honour this date also in a sports way. Currently the children and youth spend willingly their time in front of the computer. By organizing the tournament we wanted to encourage them to take up the physical activity. And football is taken as sport number 1 in the world” – said the teacher of PE in Szymon Konarski High School, Romuald Sztura.

In the football tournament that was held in the football pitch of Szymon Konarski High School took part the teams representing Polish schools:  John Paul II Lower Secondary School, Adam Mickiewicz Lower Secondary School, Władysław Syrokomla High School and the organizers. At the last minute the team from Konstanty Parczewski Lower Secondary School in Niemenczyno resing from taking part in the tournament.

The football tournament organized on occasion of the 50th anniversary of Szymon Konarski High School won the team from John Paul II Lower Secondary School. The second were the football players from Adam Mickiewicz Lower Secondary School, the third Władysław Syrokomla High School. The title of the best scorer won Jarosław Jalcewicz from John Paul II Lower Secondary School, who scored 5 goals. The best players from each of the teams that took part in the tournament were distinguished as well: Dariusz Rudzianiec (Szymon Konarski High School), Ernest Moroz (Władysław Syrokomla High School), Daniel Bardowskij(Adam Mickiewicz Lower Secondary High School) and Robert Fiodorowicz (John Paul II Lower Secondary School).

The prizes and the food and drinks for the participants of the football tournament were funded by the Association of the Poles in Lithuania.
