The solemn closing of the Wanda Rodowicz`s exhibition

Archiwum Ž. Radavičiusa

The solemn closing of the exhibition of the artist from Warsaw, Wanda Rodowicz, in the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius gathered the politicians, social activists, representatives of the creative societies, the Polish, Lithuanian, Russian and Ukraine nationalities. Since 10 April in the hall of the House of Polish Culture people could look at the portraits, mosaics, stained – glass windows made by the artist coming from the Polish – Lithuanian family  Radavičius.

As the organizer of the exhibition, the educationalists, social activist Žilvinas Radavičius said, the aim of this venture was creating the dialog between the representatives of the nations that formerly formed the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. [Wielkie Księstwo Litewskie].

„The mission is completed. The interest on the exhibition was shown not only by the famous representatives of the Lithuanian intelligentsia but also the politicians, among others the Head of the Lithuanian Parliament Seimas Vytautas Landsbergis, the head of Liberal and Centre Union Artūras Melianas and the diplomats. The Polish ambassador to Lithuania Jarosław Czubiński and the Ukrainian ambassador to Lithuania  Valerij Žovtenko were there as well– said Žilvinas Radavičius.

According to the organizer of the exhibition, Žilvinas Radavičius, the language of a culture has a special place in the country  because of the bad relations between the national minorities and Lithuania is slowly transforming into “the cosmos in which each of the nations is a separate planet.” “Theoretically the national communities have determined rights but practically they do not have fixed bounds with the Lithuanian majority. The Lithuanian media do not inform too much about the positive issues connected to the national communities, they write purely about the negative pieces of information” – said  Ž. Radavičius.

The exhibition of Wanda Rodowicz`s works and accompanying it the occurrences were organized with a hope to get to know better the representatives of different nations.

During the solemn closing of the Wanda Rodowicz`s exhibitions performed: Vytautas Radavičius, saxophonist Rafał Jackiewicz, organist Jūratė Landsbergytė. Asija Radavičienė recited stanzas among others things from the verses of Wanda Rodowicz, the poem of Adam Mickiewicz “Pan Tadeusz”, the poem of Kristijonasa Donelaitisa “Rok”, the poems of Taras Szewczenko. The poetic output presented chairman of the Stanisław Moniuszko Center of Polish Culture in Lithuania,  Apolonia Skakowska.
