First victory of „Polonia” Vilnius

„Polonia” Vilnius won the first round of the First League 2:1 against a Vilnius team „Žalgiris-3”. The goals that helped won the game were scored by Rusłan Tamarin and Andrius Miliškevičius.

Despite the difficulties with obtaining the licence to play in the First league and financial problems, “Polonia” Vilnius has eventually gotten the right to play at the backstage of the Lithuanian top-league, although it was punished with a fee of 1000 litas and three penalty points. „Emeriten Gang”, a group of fans of „Polonia” Warsaw, which has collected money for this purpose, made it possible for the Vilnius football club to pay the fee.
