New officials in the local government of Vilnius district municipality

Last week during the session of the Council of Vilnius district municipality a new councillor, Vytautas Zinkevičius, was sworn in and a new vice-director of Vilnius district municipality Administration, Robert Komarowski, was appointed.

Vytautas Zinkevičius replaced a recently chosen member of the Lithuanian Parliament Vilija Filipovičienė. Robert Komarowski will take up a position of Rita Tamašunienė. She has been elected to the Lithuanian Parliament and is a current leader of the parliamentary faction of the Electoral Action of Poles [Polish: Akcja Wyborcza Polaków na Litwie; AWPL].

Robert Komarowski is a physicist by profession. Moreover, in 2009 at Mykolas Romeris University he obtained a master’s degree in the field of the management of the educational institutions. Since 2005 Komarowski has been the director of the primary school in Visalauke in Vilnius district municipality.

23 of 24 councillors voted for Robert Komarowski. One voting card was found invalid.
