Grand Final of ”The Radiożercy Holidays” – waiting for the results!

Radio talents, lying dormant in the students of Polish schools in Lithuania, will be awarded on Saturday, September 22th, 2012, in the House of Polish Culture at 4.00 p.m. (Naugarduko 76 Street). Star of the evening – Polish Cabaret Paranienormalni.
This year’s ”Radiożercy Schools” are — A. Mickiewicz Lower and Upper Secondary School, Secondary School in Lazdynai, Władysław Syrokomla School,  J. I. Kraszewski School, School in Lipówka, School in Bezdany. The Competition “Radiożercy School” ran this year under the theme “Holidays”.
The participants – students from classes 5 to 11 – had the oppurtunity to record sound on any portable devices – mobile phones, Dictaphones or sound recording cameras. Reportages that were created include interviews, dialogues, memories, descriptions. Reportages submitted to the competition are judged by a panel of independent experts, as well as Internet users.

The “From Neris” radio initiative has been very popular among young people in Lithuania for three years now. Hours spent on editing and recording material are not only rivalry time, but most of all fun and a chance to improve one’s skills and talents.  “Like all the contestants we are looking forward to great fun and to winning first prize, but if we do not win any, we won’t be worried because we take pride in ourselves, as we stood up to the challenge and, despite adversities,  recorded and edited the reportage from beginning to end”- said Agnieszka Weronika Górska and Kamila Karpowicz of Vilnius Secondary School in Lazdynai.
Participants taking part in the previous editions remember the time not only through the prism of awards, but above all as time when they’ve met new people and had the opportunity to feel like real radio journalists for a while. “I took part in the “Radiożercy” because I love to create reportages and to win, and it was an interesting challenge. I approached the work really »perfectly«, I think I’ve listened to my reportage about 100 times so that it does not contain any defects and arouses at least minimal emotions” — said Tomasz Romaszewski, winner of the previous edition of the ”Radiożercy Schools 2”.
Organizers: PZU Foundation, Grupa Lotos SA, Radio “From Neris”, The Foundation Aid to Poles in the East. You are welcome.
