Syrokomlowka welcomed new school year.

­Please stand at attention, banner of the school is coming. This is how started Regina Lewicka Vice director of Vilnius’ high school new school year. Welcoming was started in amphitheater of Lithuanian centre for kids and youth.

At that moment talks were quiet and everybody’s’ eyes turned to the scouts who brought the banner of the school. A ceremony is the same since few years.

The smallest ones who were for the first time at school looked with passion what was happening and what new rituals they will be part of in next year’s.

After the hymns Lithuanian and polish representatives of students went to the cemetery Rossie to put flowers next to the mausoleum of mother and heart’s son. First graders could get to know that it is a tradition celebrated since years. This year graduates had tears in their eyes because it was last celebration for them. It was last ring bell in that school
There is no reason to be sad , there is a whole new school year in front of us said Lucja Minowicz a head teacher of class 12a. Also, she added that all the students are very studious and liable and full of fear because of a new system of teaching Lithuanian.

The president of association of teachers of polish schools in lithuania and member of Vilnius city from elector action of Poles in Lithuania Mr. Jozef Kwiatkowski  ‘macierz szkolna’ wished all the best in that new school year.

I was very happy that you came to the school with polish language as native and you were faithful to the mother language. I hope the education you will get here would give you good perspectives in your future land. Said Mr. Kwiatkowski. That school had the best results since few years, so i wished you everything what’s the best to study here and did not get touched by word of some politics added Mr. Kwiatkowski
on the other hand the director of the school Danuta Siliene wished to all school society to  improve their selves.

students and teachers were full of worries what was going to happen during the coming  school year. I thought that together we could fight with all the problems and that year would be full of new facts to learn and improvement. Said Mrs. Siliene.
Director also said few words about results of last year graduates from the exams and about some news about playing field.

85 students graduated last year 11 of them were awarded with president’s award and 6 of them could be happy with very high results of nationals exams. Mrs. Danuta Siliene were happy with new playing field where it is going to be safer and will have more pleasure to play on. She hopes for good behaving  of the students playing there.

Moreover, the priest from parish of saint archangel Rafael in Vilnius encouraged not to grow too fast and go through life with keyword „god honor and fatherland” he also invite everyone to be a part in a mass and prayers.

Everyone has smiled faces and loud applauses made the first bell rang, who was carried by the first grader carried by the this year graduate. That finished the celebration, after that the oldest ones took their younger friends to the classes the same as 12 years ago.
