Kwaśniewski: Cooperation between Poland and Lithuania has worsened when we achieved mutual goals

‘At the time of my presidency relations between Poland and Lithuania were good, because we had common strategic goals. It was providing security by joining NATO and providing development by joining EU. Besides the network of common goals, leaders of both countries realized that cooperation is necessary, due to the history, geographical location and common goals’ – says ex-president of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski.

Cooperation of Poland and Lithuania has worsened, when we achieved mutual goals and I regret, that despite really good relations we were not able to complete some matters’ – says Kwaśniewski, adding that according to him, Lithuania is responsible for solving contentious issues.
