Demonstration in defence of the legendary Polish ‘Five’ in Vilnius

The community of Joachim Lelewel Vilnius High School does not approve of the decision of Vilnius local government by virtue of which this legendary Vilnius school is going to be transferred to the branch in the local in Žirmūnai.

Expressing their protest, parents, graduates and people to whom this historic school is important, organize a demonstration on 1st September this year (Tuesday) at 11.00 near the building of the local government of Vilnius.

In such a way, a protest is shown against changing the premises of J. Lelewel Vilnius High School, the famous ‘Five’ in the past which exists in the city’s centre since 1948 forming the foundation of polishness in the social and cultural life of Vilnius.

Everybody to whom this school is dear and who disagrees with the striking injustice passed on the higher levels of the Vilnius government is invited.
