Tomaszewski collected over the 50 thousand of signatures

The leader of the Poles in Lithuania electoral campaign transferred to the Impartial Election Commission over the 50 thousand of signatures supporting his candidacy for the president of Lithuania. To gain the title of a candidate for the presidency you should have collected only 20 thousand of signatures.

On paper Waldemar Tomaszewski was supported by the 50 thousand and 724 citizens of Lithuania that have the right to vote, 246 of the supporters signed their names via the Internet.

Tomaszewski is one of the twelve pretenders that submitted the signatures to the Impartial Election Commission. As the first, Member of the Parliament election commission – standing as a candidate of the Labour Party – submitted the 41 thousand of signatures.

A person who wants to be registered as a candidate for the president of Lithuania should submit to the Impartial Election Commission at least 20 thousand signatures.

The presidential election takes place on 11th March.
