“Talents of Vilnius Region 2013”. An opportunity for the young and talented

The contest “Talents of Vilnius Region 2013”, which aims at discovering new talents among the youth and presenting them to a wider audience, was inaugurated on Tuesday (22nd May). The project is supposed to serve as an opportunity for the young people with special aptitudes in order to make them feel appreciated and more self-confident.

The contest is organized by the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Vilnius Region. The project is mainly dedicated to the youth of Vilnius and its nearby regions: Vilnius, Šalčininkai, Trakai, Švenčionys and Širvintos District Municipality. Only contestants aged 6-23 are allowed to an active participation in the pageant. They will be divided into four age groups and will be competing with one another within five various areas: vocals, dance, playing an instrument, recitation and original performance (e.g. acrobatics, circus tricks, hence, everything which is not included in the aforementioned disciplines).

The project is to be executed in three consecutive stages. Ten contestants will be selected within every discipline during their performances.  In the second stage the qualified participants of the show are to take part in the classes chaired by well-known and highly respected experts, among others: singer Ewelina Saszenko, tenor Merūnas Vitulskis and maestro Zbigniew Lewicki. The last stage includes performances, displays and the gala concert.
