The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity gathered collected around 3500 lits

For the first time Vilnius region contributed to The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy)- the Polish charity organization. The School Centre of Mother Tongues was responsible for the event organization in Vilnius. The sum of around 3500 lits was collected.

 “For the first time Vilnius participated in the charity event. We managed to collect around 3500 lits, that sum is to be transferred to the foundation. The School Centre of Mother Tongues wishes to thank Polish schools in Lithuania for the participation in classes on “Realize it’s worth to help selflessly”; Polish embassy in Vilnius; “Znad Wilii” radio station; the House of Polish Culture; and “Kite Art” band. I hope that the event will gain momentum in the future” – said Marek Jankowski, a teacher of The School Centre of Mother Tongues, and a member of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

According to the latest information from the official website of the organization, during the event, the sum of almost 40 million zloty (39 855 148 zloty) was raised. For the next time the record was broken. The closing bid for the Heart with number one was 150 000 zloty.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is a charity organization, during which money is selflessly collected to buy medical equipment for hospitals in Poland. The gatherings are organized around the whole world. This year, the money is raised for “saving the children lives, and the decent health care for seniors”. Big-hearted men can be recognized by hearts with “the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity” written on them, those hearts are given by volunteers for contributors.
